Migration. Baustelle Schweiz May 11. – July 2. 2006 Curated by Tiberio Cardu Concept: Migration is the talk of the town. Buzzwords and phrases like “immigration land”, “integration”, “problems with foreigners”, “hyperxenesis”, “multi-culti” – expressions of utopias and nightmares – testify to the popularity of the topic. But concealed behind the words and phrases and the unceasing discussions with their often deadlocked standpoints, there lies a widely diverse reality. Migration is bringing about appreciable changes in everyday life. The exhibition invites visitors to take an entertaining, informative, playful, and sometimes abysmal look at changing society – in the recent works of thirty artists, placed on view in a former discotheque. ---Deutsch--- Migration. Schlagworte wie «Einwanderungsland», «Integration», «Ausländerproblem», «Überfremdung», «Multikulti» als Utopie oder Albtraum zeugen davon. Doch hinter den Schlagworten und Phrasen, den unablässigen Diskussionen mit ihren oft festgefahrenen Positionen, versteckt sich eine vielgestaltige Wirklichkeit. Ein Alltag, dessen Gesicht sich durch Migration zusehends verändert. Die Ausstellung lädt zu einem unterhaltenden, informativen, spielerischen und zuweilen abgründigen Blick auf die Gesellschaft im Wandel ein. Gezeigt werden aktuelle Arbeiten von 30 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern in einer ehemaligen Diskothek.
