Project Title: Collection Cahiers d'Artistes ART 40 Basel, Hall 3.2 9 to 14 June 2009 Organisation: Janine Schmutz Martina Siegwolf
Concept The Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia is, for the first time, presenting its artist monograph series Collection Cahiers d'Artistes. The series, which promotes up-and-coming artists, is presented in the form of a walkable landscape that opens up various ways of perusing and experiencing the eight new artist monographs and gives a face to the cahiers of earlier years. The installation chosen for the Collection Cahiers d'Artistes combines artistic, curatorial, culinary and art educational approaches and elements. Janine Schmutz (Fondation Beyeler, Riehen/Basel) and Martina Siegwolf (Museum für Gegenwartskunst Basel) have organised an artist-led art education project to promote the «Collection Cahiers d’Artistes», in collaboration with the artist duos ganzblum (Haimo Ganz and Martin Blum), K&K. Kunst und Kochen (Haimo Ganz and Bruno Steiner), artist Bruno Steiner and Eveline Schüep.

Exhibition Title: Anselm Kiefer. Wege der Weltweisheit / Die Frauen der Revolution Arp Museum Bahnhof Rolandseck (D), Remagen-Rolandseck Sept. 29th 2007 - Sept. 28th 2008 Curated by Klaus Gallwitz and Janine Schmutz
Concept In his early large-scale woodcut collages entitled Ways of Worldly Wisdom, Anselm Kiefer recapitulated history from an ironic and melodramatic perspective, while also exploring the modern tradition with all intensity. Along with Germany’s Spiritual Heroes, forming a kind of Walhalla of their own on the ground floor of the Richard Meier building, the Women of the Revolution will also be present: leaden beds bearing the names of famous French women and forging a connection with France, where Kiefer has lived and worked for many years. The exhibition will be enhanced with selected books on the same themes and accompanied by a catalogue.

Exhibition Title: FREMDGEHEN Victor Escobar / Pia Gisler Nidwaldner Museum, Stans June 11th - July 31st 2005 Curated by: Janine Schmutz
Concept The longing for the unknown, exotic and far-away casts a magic spell over us. Foreign cultural contexts and the experiences gathered in them are essential for the artistic work of Victor Escobar and Pia Gisler. Both have travelled extensively and incorporate fascinating experiences of near and far into their work. The double exhibition at the Museum Nidwalden opens our eyes to things strange and foreign. The exhibition is accompanied by a catalogue.
