Fabian Schöneich, On the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) Berlin
The talk will reflect on the founding and development of the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) Berlin, which opened its doors to the public in 2022. Fabian Schöneich will discuss his motivation for founding CCA Berlin, its artistic program, and the administrative and financial challenges involved. The talk will further reflect on the role of such an institution within Berlin’s cultural landscape.
Fabian Schöneich is the Founder and Director of the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA) Berlin. From 2014 to 2018, he was Curator at Portikus in Frankfurt and previously worked as Assistant Curator at Kunsthalle Basel (2012–2014) and at Kunstinstituut Melly (formerly Witte de With Center for Contemporary Art) in Rotterdam (2011). He has also served as Performance Curator for LISTE Art Fair in Basel and as Curator for Frieze Art Fair in London and New York.
